I am currently a Ph.D. student in the Paleobotanical Department of the “Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio” in Trelew, Chubut province, Argentina. I spend most of my time investigating Jurassic and Permian fossil floras of Argentina. My field programs are in the central part of Chubut Province and my research spans alpha taxonomy (describing new fossil species) with special emphasis on the reconstruction of “whole plants”, phylogenetics (empirical and theoretical approaches) and biostratigraphy (relationships of different biotas). Many of my investigations focus on fossil conifers of the families Araucariaceae and Cupresseceae, and sphenophytes (horsetails) of the order Equisetales.
