Alex Nützel is researcher and curator for fossil invertebrates at the Bavarian State Collection for Paleontology and Geology in Munich and teaches at the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich (LMU). He received his master (diploma) 1992 at the University of Erlangen and his PhD 1998 at the University of Hamburg. Alex had postdoc positions in Erlangen and at the Smithsonian in Washinton D.C. He is interested in all aspects of invertebrate paleontology with the focus on gastropod phylogeny and systematics.
