Julie Meachen is a vertebrate paleontologist who got her Ph.D. at UCLA in 2008, and currently teaches gross anatomy at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Her primary interests are the morphology and paleoecology of Plio-Pleistocene carnivores, including saber-tooth cats. Lately she has been concentrating her research efforts on the canids at Rancho La Brea and how the interface of climate change and species interactions affects the evolution of species.
