The subscription prices were calculated from the institutional (library) prices; several of the journals offer discounts to individuals, but the conditions for this are highly variable between journals and would not lead to comparable values. The prices have been averaged to 10,000 letters and spaces by multiplying the average number of letters and spaces on a page of text in the journal’s layout with the number of pages published that year (the 1999 volume of Lethaia was incomplete by March, 2000; the number of pages were extrapolated). The 1998 Impact Factor values (covering citations published 1998 to articles published during 1996-1997) were taken from the 1999 Journal Citation Reports (not available for Palaeontologia Electronica, but see site statistics).
