Yokichi Takayanagi

Dr. Yokichi Takayanagi is a professor emeritus of Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. He has been engaged in micropaleontological researches, especially concentrating on benthic and planktonic foraminifers from the Cretaceous, Tertiary and Quaternary of the circum-North-Pacific regions as well as oceanic bottom. His contributions have been made on taxonomy, biostratigraphy, biogeography, paleoecology, wall microstructure, etc. He is the Joseph A. Cushman Awardee for 1993.
