Gridded data

The gridded data obtained with the Grid program and to construct the animated diagrams can be downloaded for each site. These files are given as Microsoft Word documents and were generated using grid-cell sizes of 1 µm in length and 2 elements in width.

In order to fulfill the 8.3 character encoding rule for electronic publication, the following abbreviations were used for sample names: Samples from cores ME69-196, V16-205 are indicated by the sample interval or sample depths (in cm) in the respective directories. Samples, that were taken from DSDP cores follow the DSDP sample convention, i.e. core_section_interval in cm. The suffix .GRD indicates, that these are gridded data. Sample designations such as MD856820.GRD and MD730170.GRD indicate piston cores MD85682 at 0cm and MD73017 at 0cm core depth, respectively.

 

In file "All" the individual sample diameter and elements measurements from all cores were combined in one single file, and then also gridded using a grid-cell size 1 µm in length and 2 elements in width.
