The line separates coccoliths of morphocline A (upper figure, including morphotypes S, I, and L) from coccoliths of morphocline B (lower figure, including morphotypes A and B). The equation of the separation line is Y = 2.0 X + 17.946 (X denotes the coccolith diameter in µm, and Y the number of elements in the distal shield).
