Mark D. Sutton

Mark Sutton is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford. He received his BA from the University of Cambridge in 1992, and obtained a Ph.D. on the Lower Ordovician phosphatic brachiopod fauna of Avalonia in 1996, from the University of Wales, Cardiff. Although primarily a geologist and a palaeontologist, he has also lectured in computing for three years, at the University of Wales, Lampeter. He maintains broad research interests centered on the systematics and phylogeny of Lower Palaeozoic invertebrate faunas, and on the application of numerical and computing techniques to palaeontological problems.
