This agglutinated species lives in Bermuda marsh and mangroves, and landlocked ponds fringed by mangroves. It is also reported mangroves of Brazil, as well as in many temperate marshes of the world, but it could have been overlooked in other areas due to its test fragility and unusual morphology. This is the first time this species has been reported from an island wetland area.
