Frank
Corsetti received his B.S. in geology from UC Davis and Ph.D. from UC Santa
Barbara, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Earth
Sciences at the University of Southern California. Frank’s interests revolve
around the co-evolution of the Earth and its biosphere using integrative
paleontological, sedimentological, and geochemical tools. Recent topical
projects include the impact of Snowball Earth on the course of evolution,
geochemical and substrate changes across the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary, and
the end Permian extinctions and the Early Triassic recovery period. Other
interests include microbe-sediment interaction, stromatolites, coated grains,
dolomitization, and biosignatures for exobiological studies.
