1990 and for a short time worked at the Ministry of the Environment in Toronto
and at the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus. In 1992 she moved out to
Victoria, British Columbia and did her M.Sc. at the University of Victoria with
Dr. Christopher Barnes on the neodymium isotopic signature of Ordovician
conodonts as proxy indicators for past oceanic environments. After finishing the
degree in 1995, she returned to her first love, marine biology, and has since
then worked as a consultant in a wide range of areas including Marine Protected
Areas, conservation management, sedimentary studies, fisheries research,
physical oceanographic processes, benthic ecology, and taxonomy. Mud continues
to fascinate her.
In her spare time she enjoys racing outrigger canoes, coaching dragon boating, and various types of printmaking and alternative photography.
