I
am a Ph.D. candidate studying vertebrate paleontology in the Department of
Geological Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. My research centers
on the study of post-natal skeletal development and variation in extant and
fossil reptiles and the implications of these data for both systematics and the
interpretation of secondary biological properties (biogeography, diversity
through time, etc.) in the fossil record. My dissertation research integrates
studies of skeletal development, intraspecific skeletal variation, and
high-resolution computed tomography to address broad-based anatomical and
systematic questions using kinosternoid and testudinoid turtles.
