Kevin
received his B.S. degrees in Astronomy and Geology from the University of
Illinois at Urbana, a Master’s degree in Geology and Education from the
University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in Geoscience and Evolutionary Biology from
the University of Arizona. His current research interests include the
investigation of mammalian faunal sequences from volcanically-active
paleoenvironments, the character of small mammal diversity through the middle
Miocene global cooling maxima, the record of stratigraphic change during the
Himalayan Orogeny, and the application of 3-D multimedia labs for geological
instruction in distance learning settings. Kevin spends most of his spare time
with his wife Lisa and young sons Alex and Sean, but finds a little time here
and there for woodworking as well as songwriting and laying down guitar tracks
