I
received my B.S. from Duke University and my Ph.D. in Anthropology from Harvard
University. My research focuses on the interaction of climatic, vegetation, and
faunal changes in the fossil record. My research incorporates dental microwear
and carbon and oxygen stable isotopic analyses of tooth enamel and paleosols to
reconstruct paleohabitats, climates, and dietary adaptations. My work focuses on
the Miocene Siwaliks of Pakistan and the adaptations of the fossil ape
Sivapithecus. I have also worked with fossil localities in South Africa, Spain,
and Turkey as well as a modern chimpanzee site in Uganda and Hadza
hunter-gatherers in Tanzania.
