Richard A. Ketcham is a senior research scientist and manager of the High-Resolution X-ray Computed Tomography facility in the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas. He has run the facility since its inception in 1997. His research has involved improving CT data and applying it to a range of problems in geology and morphology, with a particular emphasis on creating original methods for extracting measurements from three-dimensional imagery. He received his Ph.D. in geological sciences from the University of Texas at Austin and his bachelor’s degree in geology and computer science from Williams College.
