Alistair Evans is a zoologist with a particular interest in the functional morphology of mammalian dentitions. His studies on this topic have ranged from ideal functional form in teeth, developmental controls of tooth shape and number, and the physical properties of foods. A large amount of this work has focused on developing techniques for 3D imaging of teeth and the analysis and measurement of tooth function and occlusion, including measurement of dental complexity and the development of the MorphoBrowser. Alistair has recently become a Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, Monash University, Australia, after being a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki, Finland since 2003. |
