Dieter Korn is curator for fossil invertebrates (cephalopods, corals, trilobites) and the Devonian collecton at the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin.  He received his Ph.D. from Univesrity Tübingen in 1997. Current research topics, in part together with two Ph.D. students, diploma students, and Bachelor students, include the evolutionary history of the Paleozoic Ammonoidea, the taxonomic diversity and morphological disparity of Triassic and Jurassic ammonoids, the correlation of physical and biological events around the Permian-Triassic boundary, and the Carboniferous paleogeography and relationships between Laurussia and Gondwana.
