Torsten Scheyer is currently a postdoctoral fellow and junior
lecturer at the Paläontologisches Institut und Museum, Universität Zürich. He is
mainly interested in the evolutionary morphology und palaeobiology of
vertebrates, the development of skeletal tissues and the microstructures of
bone, as well as the ecological adaptations of extant and extinct vertebrates. A
current focus of his work is based on understanding the
relationships of the marine placodont reptiles from the Triassic by integrating
anatomical, bone microstructural and developmental data sets.
