Christian Klug teaches at Zürich University and the ETH Zürich and has his SNF- research project on the origin of ammonoids. He studied at Tübingen University and Northern Arizona University and received both his diploma (1998) and his Ph.D. (2001) from Tübingen University. After a scientific internship in Stuttgart (2001-2002), he began as a postdoc at Zürich University. His research focuses on cephalopod palaeobiology, especially the evolution of early ammonoids and its palaeoecological framework, soft-tissue imprints in ammonoids, the Palaeozoic of northern Africa, Muschelkalk cephalopods and Mesozoic coleoids.
