Luis Buatois specializes on paleoenvironmental and
stratigraphic aspects of ichnology. He graduated from the University of Buenos
Aires, where he also obtained his PhD. He has been a postdoc at the Kansas
Geological Survey and a researcher at the Argentinean Research Council. At
present, he is a Full Professor at the University of Saskatchewan. Luis is
President of the International Ichnological Association and Vice-President of
the International Palaeontological Association. He has done field and subsurface
work in many different places of the world, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile,
Venezuela, Ecuador, Canada, United States, Spain, Romania, China, Australia,
South Africa, Namibia and Antarctica. He has published or edited seven books and
is the author of about a hundred and fifty scientific papers.
