SUMMARY
Solvent gels remove consolidant more cleanly, more reliably, in considerably less time and in a more comfortable working environment than the brushing on of solvent method. Specific areas of interest can be cleaned without any adverse effects on adjacent areas and the flexibility in formulation allows various consolidants to be tackled.
These advantages, coupled with the ability to control pH (and thus the level of aggression) allows the possibility of its wider application to less resistant consolidant coated surfaces.
