Francisco J. Rodríguez-Tovar specializes on the application of ichnology on basin analysis, with special attention to sequence stratigraphy and cyclostratigraphy. Moreover, paleoenvironmental interpretations and the use of trace fossils to interpret fossil bio-events (i.e., Cretaceous/Palaeogene, Cenomanian/Turonian, among others) are also some of the topics in which he is focused. Recently he starts working on ichnological core research to approach high-frequency variations in the atmosphere/ocean dynamics. He graduated in the University of Granada, Spain, being also PhD in the same university. At present, he is Full Professor at the University of Granada.
