Ignacio Díaz-Martínez is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Instituto de Investigación en Paleobiología y Geología at the Universidad Nacional de Río Negro (Argentina) with a research expertise in vertebrate ichnology. He studied geology at the Universidad del País Vasco and Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain) where he got a B.Sc. in 2006 and a M.Sc. in 2007. He continued his studies at the Universidad de La Rioja (Spain), obtaining a Ph.D. in 2013. His research mainly concerns the study of vertebrate footprints taking into account an ichnotaxonomical approach and the relationships between the footprints and the trackmakers.

Oier Suarez Hernando is a geologist graduated in 2011 at the University of the Basque Country and he obtained his MSc in Introduction to Geology Research in 2012 at the University of Zaragoza. Since 2013 he is doing his PhD thesis at the University of the Basque Country, under the supervision of Drs. Xabier Murelaga and Juan Cruz Larrasoaña. He studies fossil remains of micromammals (especially rodents), focusing the investigation in magneto-biostratigraphy and palaeoecological evolution of the continental Miocene deposits of the Ebro Basin (Iberian Peninsula).

Blanca Martínez García has a degree in Geology and a PhD in Geological Sciences from the University of the Basque Country. She is a micropalaeontologist who works in the following lines of research: 1) palaeoceanographic and palaeoecological reconstructions of marine and estuarine environments from Late Quaternary and Recent times using benthic foraminifers and ostracods; and 2) palaeoenvironmental analysis of freshwater environments from middle-upper Miocene, Late Quaternary and Recent times using ostracods. Blanca currently holds a postdoctoral researcher position in the University of the Basque Country.

Juan C. Larrasoaña is a geologist specialized in the application of palaeomagnetic techniques to a wide range of studies in Earth Sciences. One of his research interests is the magnetostratigraphic dating of fossil-bearing marine and continental successions, which provides the basis for interpreting the palaeontological record in terms of evolutionary changes. Since 2009, Juan C. Larrasoaña is a staff scientist in the Zaragoza headquarters of the Spanish Geological Survey (IGME).

Xabier Murelaga is a palaeontologist whose research covers a variety of subjects like taxonomy of Tertiary and Quaternary fossil microvertebrates and taxonomy and evolution of Mesozoic and Cenozoic turtles. Xabier is Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Stratigraphy and Palaeontology in the University of Basque Country.
