Plain Language Abstract

Three new fossil crane-flies species—Helius (Helius) neali n. sp., Helius (Helius) oosterbroeki n. sp. and Toxorhina (Ceratocheilus) mexicana n. sp. from the Miocene fossil resins are described. The new representatives of Helius are characterized by, comparatively for these crane flies, a short rostrum, shorter or a little longer than the head. Additional information of known Miocene representatives of Elephantomyia are provided.
