Wayne Itano is a vertebrate paleontologist who specializes in Paleozoic chondrichthyan fishes. He received a Ph.D. in experimental physics from Harvard University in 1979. He is a Scientist Emeritus at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and a Curator Adjoint at the Museum of Natural History, University of Colorado, both in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
