Nicolae Trif’s research is focused on the fossil fish from the Mesozoic and the Cenozoic of Romania. His main interest points are the teeth of marine fishes (especially sharks), but also the fresh water fishes. Currently he is the curator of the Paleontology Collection of the Natural History Museum in Sibiu and a lab member of the Paleotheriology and Quaternary Geology Laboratory of the Babeș-Bolyai University. He has a rich field experience, working mostly on the Miocene, Eocene and Upper Cretaceous deposits of Romania.

Vlad A. Codrea is a Professor working at the University “Babeș-Bolyai” of Cluj-Napoca (Transylvania, Romania), Department of Geology. He is the head of the Paleotheriology and Quaternary Geology Laboratory. In the last decades he worked on the research of various fossil vertebrates, mainly the latest Cretaceous and Paleogene ones from Romania. He teaches and is in charge of courses on marine geology, regional Romanian geology and Quaternary geology (for undergraduate students), as well as on Mesozoic and Cenozoic terrestrial ecosystems and geothermal energy (Master degree students). He was the promoter of several doctoral studies, mainly on vertebrate paleontology. He has a rich field experience, being the head of several paleontologist teams working on various places in Romania. He was the leader of two National Geographic grants, a member of another one and the leader of several national Romanian grants.

Viorel-Ilie Arghiuș’s research is focused on natural hazards, especially floods and flash-floods. During the latest years he also took care of the small Museum of Paleontology of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering, Cluj-Napoca. Additionally he collected, prepared and studied various groups of Eocene marine fossils discovered around the city of Cluj-Napoca. In his research he discovered several new locations that proved to be very promising in terms of marine vertebrate findings.
