Stephan studied Biology at Leiden University in the Netherlands, graduating cum laude in the MSc. Programme Evolution, Biodiversity, and Conservation. Currently he is a PhD student at the Paleontological Institute and Museum of the University of Zurich, Switzerland. His PhD focuses on the phylogeny and palaeobiology of protorosaurs, a possibly polyphyletic clade of Triassic archosauromorphs, which includes the well-known long necked Tanystropheus.

Torsten Scheyer is research associate and private lecturer of Palaeontology at the Palaeontological Institute and Museum of the University of Zurich (PIMUZ), Switzerland. He is mainly interested in the evolutionary morphology and palaeobiology of vertebrates, the development of skeletal tissues and the microstructures of bone, as well as the ecological adaptations of extant and extinct vertebrates, with a focus on reptiles.
