Evgeny E. Perkovsky was born in Kiev, USSR, in 1961. He studied biology at the Kalinin University, Moscow University and Kiev University. Since 2000 he is keeper of amber collection at the SIZK, Kiev, Ukraine. His main research topics are leiodids and fossil insects, with implications on biodiversity, paleobiology, paleobiogeography, and palaeoecology.

André Nel was born in La Ciotat, France, in 1959. He studied palaeontology at the University of Reims. Since 1993 he is researcher at the MNHN, Paris, France. His main research topics are fossil insects, with implications on systematics, phylogeny, and palaeoecology.
