Dorien de Vries is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Salford (UK). She received a bachelors (BA Hons) in archaeology and anthropology from the University of Bristol (UK), a masters (MSc) in palaeoanthropology and palaeolithic archaeology from University College London (UK), and a doctorate (PhD) in physical anthropology from Stony Brook University (USA). Her research focuses on the evolution of mammalian diversity and adaptations in Afro-Arabia and South America.

Robin Beck is a Reader in Biology at the University of Salford (UK). He received a bachelors (BA Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge (UK), followed by a masters (MSc) in Advanced Methods in Taxonomy and Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum and Imperial College (UK), and a doctorate (PhD) from the University of New South Wales. His research is on the form, function, phylogeny and biogeography of living and fossil mammals.
