Panagiotis Skandalos is a PhD candidate at Naturalis Biodiversity Center and at Leiden University in The Netherlands Panagiotis obtained a Bachelor's degree in geology and a Master's degree in paleontology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. His study focuses on the evolution and the taxonomy of fossilized micromammals.

Lars W. van den Hoek Ostende obtained a Ph.D. at Utrecht University in 1999. He is currently employed as a researcher at Naturalis Biodiversity Center and lectures Palaeontology at Leiden University.
