Zbigniew M. Bochenski graduated from the Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland in 1987 and received his PhD in 1994. He has been working at the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals, Polish Academy of Sciences, Kraków, Poland since 1987. He has also been a research associate in ornithology of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County for many years. He divides his research activity between fossil and modern bird remains. He has published a number of papers on avian taphonomy, fossil and archaeological bird remains, and several works on the comparative osteology of modern birds. He was the recipient of three major one-year each scholarships, which helped him gain professional experience in other academic centers, including Germany, Switzerland and the USA.

Johannes Happ received his BA, in general biology, from the University of California at Santa Cruz, U.S.A. in 2001. He received his MSc in palaeobiology from the University of Vienna, Austria in 2014. He is the head biologist and curator at a reptile-zoo in Klagenfurt am Woerthersee, southern part of Austria. His research includes fossil finds from the southern part of Austria as well as environmental studies and species protection programs of Austrian reptiles and amphibians with a strong emphasis on local snake populations. He is also currently enrolled in law school at the University of Linz, Austria.

Grzegorz Salwa is a neurologist by profession. Currently, he is working at the Regional Subcarpathian John Paul II Hospital in Krosno. Due to his passion for paleonthology, he has been conducting excavations and examining fossils of Carpatian Flysch from the Oligocene of the Outer Carpathians. All the discoveries are carried out in Podkarpackie Voivodeship in Poland. His private collection includes several thousand specimens, mainly marine fauna and flora. Moreover, traces of land life such as birds, insects and land plants can also be found in marine sediments. He is also engaged in professional fossil preparation by means of various techniques as well as its conservation.

Teresa Tomek graduated from the Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland in 1967 and received her PhD in 1976. She worked at the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals, Polish Academy of Sciences, Kraków in 1971-2017; currently she is a volunteer there. She published more than 60 scientific papers on various aspects of ornithology, paleontology and comparative osteology of birds. Teresa took part in eight ornithological expeditions to North Korea.
