Stephen J. Godfrey has been the Curator of Paleontology at the Calvert Marine Museum since 1989. His mandate is to collect, preserve and interpret the fossil resources in the State of Maryland, although he has a hard time leaving fossils from elsewhere alone. His publications have focused on odontocetes, chondrichthyans and coprolites with others included from the Pennsylvanian to the Pleistocene. Rodney M. Feldmann was a professor of Geology [Earth Sciences} at Kent State University from 1965-2024. He published over 450 scientific papers between 1962 and 2024 on fossils, primarily on decapod crustaceans (lobsters, crabs, and shrimps). He was a global expert on fossil lobsters and crabs, and research interests included phylogeny, taxonomy, and classification of decapod crustaceans from the Devonian to Holocene as well as their paleoecology and paleobiogeography. He was an outstanding scientific mentor.

Carrie E. Schweitzer is Professor of Earth Sciences at Kent State University at Stark. She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University and has been teaching and researching at KSU for nearly 30 years. Her research interests include phylogeny, taxonomy, and classification of decapod crustaceans from the Devonian to Holocene as well as their paleoecology and paleobiogeography.
