Mychko Eduard graduated from the Department of Paleontology at the Faculty of Geology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, with a bachelor's degree in 2009, a master's in 2011, and a postgraduate degree in 2014. His PhD-thesis was on "Trilobites from the Middle-Upper Carboniferous in Northern Eurasia". He is a full member of the Russian Geological and Russian Carcinological Societies. He has received funding for his research from grants from the Russian Science Foundation and Russian Foundation for Basic Research, among others. He is well-known as a popularizer of paleontology and has published several works on the subject. As an author or co-author, he has described 30 new taxa of fossil animals, including trilobites and crustaceans. To study geology and find fossils, Mychko has visited numerous geological locations in the Urals, Caucasus, Crimea, European Russia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia. As of 2024, he has authored more than 60 scientific papers, including two scientific review books and 40 peer-reviewed journal articles.
