Robert J. O’Flynn is a palaeontologist at Yunnan University. He received his Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Palaeontology from the University of Portsmouth and has successfully defended his PhD thesis ‘Early Cambrian deuteropods from the Chengjiang Konservat-Lagerstätte: anatomy, taxonomy and phylogenetic significance’ at the University of Leicester.

Mark Williams is Professor of Palaeobiology at the University of Leicester, and Co-Director of the Yunnan Key Laboratory for Palaeobiology. He is interested in the evolution of the biosphere from the Cambrian to the Anthropocene.

Ed Thomas studied Earth Sciences at the University of Manchester (UK) and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London. He currently works as a technician at the University of Leicester where he supports laboratory and field teaching and works with researchers in the Centre for Palaeobiology and Biosphere Evolution. His research interests include the application of analytical techniques to the disciplines of palaeontology, palaeobiology and taphonomy.

Prof. Xianguang Hou is a palaeontologist at Yunnan University and the discoverer of the Chengjiang biota. His research focuses on Cambrian fossils, early animal evolution, and exceptional preservation, and he has described many new taxa from the Chengjiang Lagerstätte and won the National Natural Science Award of China twice.

Yu Liu is a Research Professor in Palaeobiology and Deputy Director of the Yunnan Key Laboratory for Palaeobiology. He received his PhD (magna cum laude) in Natural Science from the University of Ulm, Germany. His work focuses on arthropods from the Chengjiang (Series 2, Stage 3) Konservat-Lagerstätte.
