Dr. Gerd Geyer holds a professorship at the Würzburg University, Germany. He is working on Cambrian and Triassic palaeontology and stratigraphy since 1980 and published around 160 monographs, papers and articles, mainly on Cambrian rocks and fossils. His Cambrian working areas focus on West Gondwana and Avalonia, with additional research activities on other continents, whereas Triassic palaeontology and stratigraphy is centered to the Central European Basin.

Jürgen Rudolf Sell is a self-employed master craftsman who collected fossils since his early youth. Together with fellow amateur paleontologists, he founded the Sammlung Mainfränkische Trias at Euerdorf in 1970, which is specialized on fossils from the Triassic of the Central European Basin. That collection developed into the Terra Triassica Museum which houses more than 50,000 specimens.
