TABLE 7. p -value results of the Wilcoxon Ranked-Sum tests comparing the notch length to the notch height of each uncinid species. Alpha value = 0.05; see Table 2 for measurements and Appendix 3 for R code. Note that this test does not take roundness of the hook into account. This test was employed to determine the differences in the shape of the notch between species, which ultimately appears to be a trait that may be shared by all uncinids. It should be noted that these comparisons are difficult for U. alpina and U. ollerenshawi, as there is a paucity of measurements (low number) and a notably different curvature of U. alpina.
