Jonathan received his bachelors (B.S.) in Earth Sciences from the Universite Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in France. He then moved to the United States where he earned a M.S. in earth sciences from the University of Oregon and a PhD in biology from the University of Washington. After a year at Bucknell University as a Visiting Assistant Professor, he spent 2017-2023 as an Assistant Professor at the Ohio State University. After being granted tenure, Jonathan returned to his home country of France. He lives on a 30 acre farm where he continues his research on the systematics and paleoecology of mammals from the Oligocene and Miocene. He is mostly focused on understanding the evolutionary ecology of geomyoids, but you will also find him puzzling at other critters.
