Anna Żylińska received her Ph. D. in 2001 and her habilitation degree in 2013 at the Faculty of Geology, University of Warsaw. She currently holds an associate professor position in the Department of Historical and Regional Geology, Faculty of Geology, University of Warsaw. She is a specialist in Cambrian trilobites, especially the olenids and ellipsocephalids. Her research has also focused on the stratigraphic significance of these faunas in correlation with acritarch assemblages, and their biogeographic affinities. She is a voting member of the International Subcommission on Cambrian Stratigraphy. Apart from trilobites, her work was also focused on Cambrian trace fossils of arthropod and non-arthropod origin, and on the fossil evidence of the Cambrian Explosion in the Cambrian strata of Poland.
