After receiving her PHD in 2015, Tory was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Leicester and then the University of Bonn, where she investigated fossilization in amber and plant fossilization. Tory is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her current research covers a wide range of topics, but she primarily focuses on fossil plant chemical defenses, plant-insect interactions, and the Mazon Creek fossil site.
