Oleksandr Kovalchuk
National Museum of Natural History NAS of Ukraine

Oleksandr Kovalchuk was born on November 22, 1989 in Bilopillya (Sumy Oblast, Ukraine). He graduated from the A.S. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University in 2012 and received his PhD in Zoology at the Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology, National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine in 2015. He is a senior researcher and curator of fossil fish collection at the Department of Palaeontology, National Museum of Natural History NAS of Ukraine, specialist in the field of palaeoichthyology. Scientific interests of Oleksandr Kovalchuk are related to morphology, historical faunistics and palaeoecology of Cenozoic and Mesozoic fishes of Eastern Europe.
