Lin Na studied Paleontology at Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology focusing on small shelly fossils from the Cambrian strata. She received her Ph.D. from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in 2016 for her research on deriving diversity patterns during the Cambrian radiation. She is currently working at Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology as an Assistant Professor and continues pursuing her academic career in data-driven paleobiology. She has broad interests in long-term trends of ecological and evolutionary processes in large spatial scales utilizing paleontological databases, such as the Paleobiology Database and the Geobiodiversity Database. Her recent research is mainly focused on integrating fossil occurrence data from multiple sources to uncover biogeographic and LDG patterns of early Paleozoic marine organisms and their abiotic and biotic drivers.
